Our school has had consistently strong results for the past 5 years at the Canterbury Chess Interschools (with lowest placements at 2nd). We qualified for the national tournament four times and competed twice representing Canterbury. With strong players leaving over the years including Gavith Dharmasena (OC 2023), Kian Dharamsena (OC 2024), and myself this year (2025), we are looking to grow the students in our club.
For More Chess
We run the StAC Chess Club weekly every Tuesday lunchtime in the science block.
